"Lighttrap"
there are many ways to allure the light into the house. The most ancient way for this is to open the wall directly. But there are situations when you cannot solve the lighting so easily. then we should use indirect modes. It can even so happen that natural light cannot get into the house:
in populous cities
multy storied buildings
enclosure, windowless rooms
big, square planned houses
The natural light is indispensable in life, at home as much as at workplace. At proper light we can do our challenge better. In a sunless room we can get tired and glum. Besides, if we get only accidental light, our organisms don’t work satisfying, we can get ill. We need the sunlight.
Nowdays we spend less and less time outdoors, so we have to bring in the sunlight.
In addition people are getting more and more busy, so we (architects) have the charge to attend to the importance of the daylight in our life, and shape the built-up surroundings about us.
We should go over, how to solve the lighting in every part of a house. Namely, there are situations, when a chamber doesn’t have any lateral wall to open a window on, because it’s in the cellar, or in the very centre of the plan; by accident it’s too close to the neighbour building plot.
If so we shouldn’t give up the adventages of the natural light. With some creativity, we can find lots of ways to make the light get in. We can use ’lighttrap’!

Moreover, there are situations (and functions), when the too direct light would not be capable, there are places, where sunlight would be expressly disturbing, for example in a museum or a church.
These functions need rather smooth, solid, suspicious light. If so, the lighttrap is a very effective solution, to open a channel in front of the light.
The base of a lighttrap is the reflection, light-repulsion, brightness and shininess, diffusion, angle of incidence.
We can use up certain attributes of materials and faces, for example: colour, dullness, raggedness, smooth, transparency…

We have used these ideas and aptitudes in our attempts, when we tried to find the best ways for making a lighttrap (lightpiped, lightstriped, lightdotted, invisible windowed, flowing on the floor, lightgate). We planed some cubes using diferent kinds of lighttraps to find out, how they go on in the darkness. We tried to mind about their availability, viability, combination-facility. Finally we think, there are many possibilities for using lighttraps in reality.
